Are your Puppies Pure Bred?
Yes, they come from Pedigree Pure Bred Border Collies Parents. We are registered breeder with the ANKC and registered with dogs Queensland. We are also members of Caboolture Dog Club. We are ethical breeders and follow the NBCC code of ethics.
Can I get my Puppy Cheaper if I don't want papers?
No. All our puppies come with a limited registration and will have pedigree papers. While on the subject of cost all our puppies are exactly the same cost no matter what sex or color they are. We DNA al our puppies to prove their parentage, not that we need to, but believe everyone deserves to have proof who the parents are.
Do you carry out health testing?
We carry out full breed testing on all our breeding dogs so we are well aware of what they carry, we also ensure that any stud dog we chose has been fully tested as well so we can guarantee that no puppy will be affected by any of the testable diseases. Those that aren't testable obviously we can't guarantee but we strive to make sure we look at lines and see what crops up and then adjust our breeding program accordingly.
Do you only breed certain colors?
We do not breed for color alone so if you are after a specific color and aren't prepared to be guided by suitability, we aren't the breeder for you. Although we do breed color Border Collies. Our Girls are merle coat and carry the tri gene, so we do get a broad spectrum of colors. Currently we do not have EE or Red and white in our kennel so therefore we cannot breed red and white dogs (I do have several breeders I can put you in touch with who do breed these) I always like to try and breed back to a strong color solid dog which helps strengthen the pigment in my line.
Do you hip and elbow score your dog?
Yes, in short, we do. But I am a big believer that this is very subjective, and it really depends on how dogs are positioned and the reader/scorer. Although hip dysplasia is found in the Border Collie breed, environmental influences I believe contribute more than actual genetic.
